Welcome! I can't believe how long it's been since my last blog post. I didn't even blog about winning 1st place in the Eugene Register Guard Reader's Choice Awards! If you're one of the people who voted, Thank You! We were incredibly touched and grateful to receive such a huge honor.
Generally, the busier we are, the less we blog. Getting editing and albums done for clients is our top priority, and takes a lot of time (probably waaaay more than most people imagine!). Still, after nearly 4 months, I figure I should take a minute to share a little taste of what we've been up to. For starters, we've added Organic Bloom frames to our product line, and already, they're a huge hit! (Thanks to Carmen Vandyck Photography for the photo, until we can build up our own collection of studio samples.)
We did another session (we do one every few months) for some favorite clients, the Hartts, whom we've been working with since their engagement session and wedding a couple of years ago. We captured this photo shortly after baby Isabella learned to sit up on her own... such an adorable stage of life!
Here's a fun "outtake" from another recent family portrait session. We always do a mix of candids (which really capture people's personalities), along with our relaxed style of posing.

Here's a photograph from Katelyn & Taylor's May wedding at Hope Lutheran Church in Springfield (made even better, I thought, by the rain and hail pounding on the church roof... I just loved the contrasting warmth of their beautiful ceremony, and the sense I got that gorgeous bride and groom are one another's "shelter from the storm."

Lisa & Vineet had TWO wedding ceremonies at the Oregon Gardens on in July: an Indian one and a "white gown and tux" one. Both were amazing!
and Roxana & Jason were married just a couple of days ago, on the Oregon Coast. Aren't they gorgeous?

Rebecca and Josh are the most wonderful couple! They were one another’s high school sweethearts, and we could tell they’ve been dreaming of their wedding for a while. They were married at the church Rebecca grew up in (Bethesda Lutheran) and held their reception in the Vistas Ballroom at the top of the Eugene Hilton. This is one of my all-time favorite rooms, where you truly feel “on top of the world.” Beautiful views and sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows… perfect! Now Rebecca & Josh are in Hawaii and we’re sooooo happy for them (and only the tiniest bit jealous, on this stormy Oregon day). ;-) Congrats, you two!

One of the most rewarding things we experience, as business owners, is lots of repeat business. It means the world to us when customers come back... we figure we must be doing something right! Plus, it's just an amazing honor to get to keep sharing life's precious moments with our customers-turned-friends.
Lena & Andrew were awesome wedding clients back in 2006. They've since moved to Minnesota, so when they came back to Oregon for a visit, we took our portable studio and props (tutu, headbands, boas, etc.) and drove from Eugene to meet up with them at their hotel in Ashland. We got such a kick out of their darling daughter! The grumpy baby photos crack me up. Thanks, Lena & Andrew! We can hardly wait for the next photo-worthy occasion!

We love these guys! We first met Aleesa and Vince at the Oregon Wedding Showcase a couple of years ago, and we've been photographing the milestones of their lives ever since: engagement, marriage, pregnancy, and now, their first official family portraits with their daughter, Isabella! It's always an incredible honor to get to photograph little babies SO new th at they still have that last little bit of umbilical cord. It's amazing to think our own child (now almost 7!) was ever that tiny... but we're so glad we have photos which remind us.

We're lucky to have plenty of hearty souls among our clientele, so we can do outdoor portraits year-round! Studio sessions are always an option, but in this case, we're glad we braved a few raindrops... we love Lindsey's scarf, her purple umbrella, and the fall color in some of these shots! Lindsey and Eric are a total joy to be around, as evidenced by the large fan club (three parents and the maid of honor!) who came along to watch their session. What a fun crew! We're super excited for their wedding at Laloma Lodge in August!

We love autumn weddings, and this one was especially amazing! The ceremony was at the beautiful St. Mary's Catholic Church, where Andrea's parents had gotten married years before... so we had fun reenacting some photos from that wedding! The reception was at Mt. Pisgah Arboretum, and we loved the decorating combo of traditional fall colors with sky blue-- everything just "popped!" We want to thank Andrea, Josh, and their wonderful families for making us a part of their beautiful day... it was one we'll remember, always!

...and we're glad, because we've sure been doing a lot of pregnancy and baby portraits lately! This session was extra special, because Aleesa and Vince are the type of clients who quickly become friends. Vince looks tough, but he has a heart of gold. :) He and Aleesa were wedding clients (you can see some of their engagement photos here, and wedding photos here), and we're thrilled to keep documenting their lives now, as they become a family! They are going to be such sweet parents to little Isabella Grace. We can't wait to meet her! Congratulations, Hartt family!

Oh my gosh, we have had such fun photographing a Bunch of Beautiful Babies recently! Special thanks to our friends Brandy and Justin at McCloud Photography for loaning us some awesome props for these sessions, like the feathers for the newborn's "nest," and the yellow metal tub, perfect for a toddler. The first two families, I know through my work with Birth to Three. It's been a joy to watch their children grow and blossom in delightful ways!

The next two families were originally wedding clients, and we are incredibly honored that they keep coming back to us, to share each milestone of their lives. And last and littlest, but definitely not least, this sweet little newborn! We photographed his parents' wedding on 08.08.08 (photos here). You can see their gorgeous maternity portraits here (if this is possible, I think Jessica was even more beautiful, pregnant, than she was as a bride!) and--Welcome, Baby Caleb!--their newborn photos, below.
The Eagle Rock Lodge is one of our favorite wedding venues, about an hour from Eugene on the McKenzie River. It's a beautiful, peaceful setting in which guests feel comfortable, happy, and relaxed. Odile and Chris's ceremony was wonderful, with lots of fun and unique touches, such as when they used bottle caps to decide which of them would say their vows first! Then, in addition to exchanging rings with each other, they also gave a bracelet to their sweet baby girl. The wedding was a celebration of their partnership, parenthood, family, and friends. We were honored to be a part of it!
Karen and Matt were married on on the OSU campus, with the ceremony in front of Weatherford Hall, and the reception in the Memorial Union. It was a perfect day for a perfect couple! Congratulations, you two!
