It's Wedding Season!

We recently photographed our first two weddings of the season, and we want to thank both couples for getting our season off to such a great start! The mood at both weddings was positively jubilant, because both couples had something extra, even beyond the excitement of their weddings, to celebrate! At Rick and Sandy’s wedding, they and their families were still basking in the glow of Sandy’s U of O law school graduation—a huge accomplishment!—which had happened just the day before. And in Jennifer and Steven’s case, everyone was rejoicing that Steven, a U.S. Marine, had just returned safely home from his second tour of duty in Iraq. (He is now stationed in Oahu, and Jennifer has joined him there—talk about a wonderful, hard-earned change of scene!)
There were some delightful moments and details at both weddings...
Sandy & Rick got married at the Owen Rose Garden under the huge old cherry tree, which turned out to be the resting spot of a cute raccoon, who peeked down through the branches to witness the ceremony. I loved that Sandy and Rick gave umbrellas to their guests—they’d planned ahead for any weather, this being Eugene in May, but it ended up being 85 degrees with scarcely a cloud in the sky. And coming back down the aisle after the ceremony, Rick and Sandy broke into a run... to their awesome "green" getaway vehicle- a "pedicab!" A whole little parade of trike taxis took guests across the river, to the reception at the Valley River Inn. Fun!

Jennifer and Steven’s wedding was at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, which is the most beautiful, peaceful place to be… the stained glass, piano music, and singing were all just lovely. Later, at the reception, everyone cracked up when Steven used his sword to cut the cake. Oh, and I love Jennifer’s red shoes! Congratulations, you guys!
